Final ITA Summer Circuit Results

Ryan Gormley of Penn State defeated Pete Thomason, 6-3, 6-1, Monday in the men's singles final of the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Summer Circuit Event held at the Air Force Academy. Gormley, the tournament's No. 1 seed, rolled through the event without losing a set.

Sunday's ITA Circuit Event Results

Lauren Megale captured the women's singles and doubles titles Sunday at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Summer Circuit event held at the Air Force Academy. Megale, who recently transferred from Arizona State to Boise State, defeated Krista Damico, 6-3, 6-4, in the singles final, then teamed with Missy Harris to win the doubles final, 8-0, over Tori Arneson and Amanda Aragon.

Erlyn Rudico and Sarah Cassman have been named to the 2008 Academic All-Mountain West Conference team. To be eligible for selection, student-athletes must have completed at least one academic term at the member institution while maintaining a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 or better, and be a starter or significant contributor on their athletic team. Falcons Fall to Wyoming, 4-1, at MWC Championships

The Air Force women's tennis team closed out its 2008 season Wednesday by falling to Wyoming, 4-1, in the first round of the Mountain West Conference Championships at Fort Worth, Texas. Wyoming, seeded eighth, advances to play top-seeded TCU in the quarterfinals, while the Falcons, the tournament's ninth-seed, ended their season at 6-21 overall. [+]

Falcons Split Two Matches to Close Out Regular Season

The Air Force women's tennis team completed its 2008 regular season Saturday by splitting a pair of matches at the Academy. The Falcons dropped the opening match of the day, 5-2, to Colorado State in the MWC finale. Later in the day, Air Force shut out Metro State, 7-0. With the split, the Falcons finished 6-20 overall and 0-8 in the league play. [+]
