Kielkucki Named CHA Conference Defensive Player Of The Week

USAFA, Colo. -- Air Force senior goalie Marc Kielkucki was named the College Hockey
America Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Quinnipiac
Cup last weekend.The 6-foot-4, 200-pounder from Brooklyn Park, Minn., earned all-tournament honors as he led the Falcons to a second-place finish. Kielkucki made 26 saves (.926 percentage) in the 5-2 victory over Fairfield, Oct. 20. The next night he made 34 saves (.918 percentage) in a 3-2 loss to Quinnipiac in the championship game. The all-tournament honor was the fourth of his career. His victory over Fairfield was the 35th win of his career, tying him for third on AFA's career wins list. He already holds the school records for goals-against average and shutouts in a season and career.
Kielkucki is the third Falcon to earn CHA player of the week honors this season. Andy Berg (offense) and Shane Saum (rookie) were named CHA players of the week, Oct. 16.
Air Force, 3-1, returns to the home ice this weekend with a pair of CHA games against Niagara. The Falcons and Purple Eagles meet Friday and Saturday, Oct. 27-28, at 7:05 p.m. each night in the Cadet Ice Arena.
