Rifle Goes 2-1 In Home Tournament

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The USAFA rifle team hosted its first home match at the Academy since 1991 this weekend. The team went 1-1 in Saturday's competition and 2-1 overall for the weekend, with a loss to UT El Paso and a win over Wyoming. The Falcons defeated Wyoming again in Sunday's competition.
Air Force faced Wyoming earlier this season at their home range, with both the first and second-team Falcons defeating the Cowboys in the smallbore and air rifle events. This weekend's competition would have marked the Academy's second meeting with UTEP, but due to some problems the Miners were forced to cancel an earlier competition scheduled for Oct. 14 at their home range.
The Falcons will not be in action again until shortly after the New Year, Jan. 13-14, when they will be facing West Virginia and Ohio State in Morgantown, West Virginia.
