Water Polo Places Third Overall At WWPA Championships

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The Falcons water polo team placed third this weekend in the Western Water Polo Association Championships in Honolulu, Hawaii, hosted by Chaminade University. Air Force went 2-1, defeating UC Davis, 10-6, in Friday's competition and falling to UC San Diego, 6-4, in Saturday's match. The Falcons finished the tournament with a 10-5 win against La Verne Univ. in Sunday's match for third place. UC San Diego defeated Loyola Marymount for the tournament championship and an automatic berth to the NCAA Championships in Malibu, California hosted by Pepperdine University, Dec. 2-3.
Air Force finished its season ranked 18th nationally, with a 9-6 conference record and 12-12 in overall competition.
