Fencers Compete in New Mexico Open in Santa Fe

This week, the men and women's fencing teams will compete in the New Mexico Open in Santa Fe, N.M. Start time is 8 a.m. The New Mexico Open is a major U.S. Fencing Association regional tournament in the Southwest. It attracts several top-level fencers in the area. "The team can expect tough competition," said assistant coach Captain Zach Becker.
The Falcons have been idle since competing in the NAC Division II/III tournament in Sandy, Utah on Oct. 5-8. Jamie Rasmussen, Clarksville, Tenn., placed third in women's sabre.
The teams will compete against Army in the Armed Forces Championships, Nov. 10-11 in Arvada, Colorado.
