U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. -
The Mountain West Conference selected The Academy's Chris Acs as this week's men's cross country athlete of the week.
Acs, a native of Niles, Ohio, helped the Air Force men turn in their strongest showing of the season at the Pre-NCAA meet last weekend in Greenville, S.C. He was the first Falcon to finish the 8,000 meters in 24:56. Acs finished 23rd out of 242 runners in the men's gold bracket, the strongest of three brackets at the meet. Acs led the team to a third-place finish with a victory over seven of the nation's top-25 teams.
On Tuesday, the U.S. Cross Country Coaches Association released its latest national poll. The Falcons' men's cross-country team is ranked ninth and is tied with Northern Arizona with 251 points.
