Conference Honors Eight CC Runners

On the men's team, C1C Shane Rogers and C2C Brian Carpenter were named to the team for the second consecutive year. Rogers has a 3.59 grade point average in physics. Carpenter, a computer science major, has a 3.18 GPA. Also from the men's team, C3C Jim Blech earned the honor with a 3.47 GPA in biology.
This past season, the men's team finished 16th among a field of 31 teams at the NCAA Division I men's cross country championships in Ames, Iowa, Nov. 20.
C3C Tracy Denaro and C1C Dalia Wenckus also earned the honor for the second straight year. Wenckus has a 3.60 GPA in English and Denaro has a 3.68 GPA in biochemistry.
C3C Elissa Ballas (3.82 GPA, biochemistry), C4C Anne Chumlea (3.69, undeclared major) and C3C Tracy Denaro (3.68, biochemistry) were named to the All-Academic team for the first time.
At the NCAA Mountain Regional Championship this past season, the women's team finished ninth among 17 teams.
