Air Force to Host NCAA Regional Fencing Tournament

The Air Force Falcons will host the NCAA regional fencing tournament on Saturday, March 10, at the Cadet Center Gymnasium.
Five teams will compete for individual invites to the NCAA championships. No. 4 Stanford, California-San Diego, Cal State-Fullerton and the California Institute of Technology will join No. 8 Air Force in the competition.
Leading the way for the Falcons is C3C (So.) Weston Kelsey (Brush Prairie, Wash.), who has earned three medals in three World Cup competitions. He followed up a silver medal in Cuba with a bronze at a very tough Junior "A" mens pe cup in Tauberbischoffsheim, Germany. Kelsey also grabbed a silver medal at the World Cup event in Bale, Switzerland. Kelsey is now the 10th-ranked junior men's pe fencer in the world.
This weekends regional tournament will be a round-robin dual style event. Each team will compete against the other four teams. There will also be an exhibition match between Air Force and Stanford at 1 p.m.
