Rogers Receives Scholar-Athlete Award

U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. -- C1C Shane Rogers received the Academy's Scholar-Athlete Award at the 2001 Athletic Awards Ceremony on May 28.

Rogers is a two-time Mountain West Conference academic All-American in cross country. He qualified in the 3,000-meter steeplechase for the NCAA Outdoor championships. He is a two-time conference champion in the steeplechase and currently ranks second on Air Force's all-time list in the 3,000-meters.

"I can't begin to tell you what Shane has meant to our program," said head coach Ralph Lindeman.? "He is a true competitor both in the classroom and on the track.? He will be missed, but I know he will have a great Air Force career."
