Rogers Awarded NCAA Post-Graduate Scholarship

2Lt Shane Rogers was awarded a $5,000 post-graduate scholarship this week by the National Collegiate Athletic Association, according to Col. Randy Spetman, Director of Athletics.
Rogers, who graduated in May with a 3.70 grade point average in physics. Rogers is scheduled to go to Columbus Air Force Base, (MS) to attend pilot training later this year.
This past season Rogers, from Willcox, Ariz., captured the Mountain West Conference 3,000-meter steeplechase title (8:59.44) for the second consecutive year. He was named the team's Most Valuable Athlete at the end of the season. He holds the second fastest time in school history in the steeplechase (8:46.73).
