The Air Force men's cross country team scored 366 points to tie for 14th place with William and Mary at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis. Chris Acs, 33rd, led the Falcons with a time of 24 minutes, 52 seconds. Brian Carpenter followed in 40th place with a time of 24:55, David Romero was 56th with a time of 25:04, Albert Kelly finished 113th in 25:28, Ben Payne placed 124th in 25:33, Brian Dumm was 169th in 25:49 and Jim Blech finished 212th with a time of 26:26. Also finishing were C4Cs Abe Wengel and Thomas Kubler with times of 26:29 and 27:20, respectively. Wisconsin-Madison won the men's race with 129 points. Thirty-six teams ran the 8K course with 311 runners.
The last time the Falcons competed in the Roy Griak Invitational was in 1998. The men's team finished 10th with 15 teams competing. The Falcons team leader was Will Woodward. This year, C3C Acs from Niles, Ohio, beat Woodward's time and placement of 25:35, 39th place.
