Men's Cross Country Team Take Third in CSU Invitational

U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. --- The Falcons are running faster than last year. The top seven Falcon runners finished almost a minute faster than last year's time in Fort Collins. In 2000, the Falcons took fourth place. Last Saturday the Falcon men finished third with 77 points. Western State was the team leader with 29 points followed by the Colorado State Rams with 36 points.
Top Male Runners: Ben Payne led the Falcons as the No. 6 finisher in 25:25 (26:33). Team captain David Romero followed in the No. 17 spot with a time of 25:58 (26:56), Chris Acs finished 18th with a time of 25:59 (26:21), Albert Kelly was 19th in 26:00 (26:26), Brian Carpenter was 21st in 26:04 (27:31), newcomer Brian Dumm was 38th in 27:04, and Jim Blech finished in the No. 40 spot with a time of 27:14 (27:31).
