Mead named CHA Defensive Player of the Week

Air Force sophomore Steve Mead was named the College Hockey America Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in two games against Bentley College, Oct. 25-26.
Mead, a 5-9, 175-pounder from Warminster, Penn., helped the Falcons to a series sweep of Bentley with a career-best five-point series. Mead tallied a career-best three points, including a power-play goal, in the 5-2 win Friday. He added two assists in Saturday's win. Mead has played in all six games this season and leads the Falcon defense with six points. He also stands second on the team with five assists and third in points. The honor is the first of Mead's career.
Air Force opens CHA play this weekend with a two-game series at the University of Niagara in New York. The teams play Friday-Saturday, Nov. 1-2, at 7:05 p.m. (EST) each night.
