Men Second, Women Seventh in MWC Preseason Swimming, Diving Poll

The Air Force men's swimming and diving team was picked the finish second and the women seventh in the Mountain West Conference preseason poll voted on the by the league's coaches.
Three-time champion BYU won a close vote on the men's side, as only five points separated the top three spots. The Cougars had 16 points and four first-place votes while Air Force garnered 12 points and one first-place vote. UNLV was picked third with 11 points, Utah fourth with six points and Wyoming fifth with five.
BYU received six first-place votes and 47 points in the women's poll to take the top spot. Colorado State was picked second with 40 points and UNLV third with 39. Both schools received one first-place vote. Utah was picked fourth with 34 points followed by New Mexico (19), San Diego State (17), Air Force (16) and Wyoming (12).
The Air Force men open the season on Friday, Oct. 18, by hosting Notre Dame at 6 p.m. in the Cadet Natatorium. The women begin the following week, Oct. 25-26, at the Sun Belt Classic at New Mexico State.
