Cross Country Runner Earns MWC Athlete of the Week

C2C Ben Payne was named the Mountain West Conference athlete of the week for Sept. 17 after finishing first out of 114 runners at the UNM Lobo Invitational on Sept. 14. His time of 24:01 was a career-best and is currently the 10th fastest in MWC history.

Payne earned all-conference honors after finishing fifth at the 2001 MWC championships. He went on to earn all-region honors after finishing 20th at the Mountain Region Championships.
