U.S.A.F.A., Colo.- The Air Force men's swimming and diving team defeated UNLV, 154-86, Friday evening in the Cadet Gymnasium's Natatorium. Senior Nate Amidon took first in the 200-yard freestyle (1:43.67), followed by junior Kevin Heath (1:45.30) and freshman Gordon White (1:45.74). Freshman Nick Burton led the Falcons in the 200-yard IM (1:29.77), with junior Eric Pounds finishing second (1:28.66). Air Force clenched the top three spots in the 1 meter diving event with Brady Lindberg taking first (267.68), followed by Ben Chapman (255.52) and Doug Hulse (241.72). Lindberg also won the 3-meter diving event only days after having been named Mountain West Conference men's diver of the week. Other individual highlights included junior Eric Pounds winning the 200-yard butterfly and junior Paul Brehm taking the top spot in the 200-yard backstroke.
The Falcons improve to 10-1 overall after Friday night's win. The men will be in action again January 24 when the Falcons travel to Provo, Utah to take on Brigham Young University.
