Saum and Ramsey named CHA Players of the Week

Air Force senior Shane Saum and freshman Andrew Ramsey were named College Hockey America players of the week for their performances in the Quinnipiac Cup, Oct. 10-11.
Saum, a senior from Palmer, Alaska, earned the offensive award while Ramsey, a freshman from Noblesville, Ind., earned the rookie award.
Saum was named to the all-tournament team as he scored three goals in two games in leading Air Force to a second-place finish. He scored the game-winning goal in the 4-2 win over Bentley in the first round. Saum then scored the game-tying goal in the championship game against Quinnipiac with 1:04 remaining in the third period to force overtime. AFA lost to Quinnipiac, 4-3, in overtime.
Ramsey scored one goal in each tournament game. His first collegiate goal came in the win over Bentley. His goal tied the score at 2-2 and AFA went on to win 4-2. Against Quinnipiac, Ramsey scored AFA's first goal of the game midway through the third period. AFA scored two more goals in the final eight minutes to send the game into overtime.
The honor is the first of each player's career.
Air Force, 1-1 overall this season, travels to Anchorage, Alaska, for the annual Nye Frontier Classic, Oct. 17-18.
