Silver beats Blue, 2-1, in intrasquad scrimmage

The Air Force Silver team defeated the Blue, 2-1, in the annual intrasquad scrimmage Sunday evening, Oct. 5, at the Cadet Ice Arena. There were no power plays in the two-period game as all penalties resulted in a penalty shot.
The Silver team took a 1-0 lead in the first period on a penalty shot at 8:52. Senior team captain Shane Saum gave the Silver a 2-0 lead at 12:48 of the first period. Seth Pelletier brought the puck off the boards and into the circle where Saum gained control. Saum's wrister went high over the shoulder of Mike Polidor.
The Blue team answered midway through the second period as freshman Theo Zacour scored on a penalty shot at 10:33.
Polidor made 20 saves for the Blue team. Freshman Peter Foster played both periods for the Silver team and also made 20 saves.
Air Force opens the regular season Friday-Saturday, Oct. 10-11, at the annual Quinnipiac Cup in Hamden, Conn. The Falcons play Bentley in the first round, Friday, Oct. 10, at 4 p.m. EST. AFA will then play either American International or Quinnipiac on Saturday at either 4 or 7 p.m.
