The Air Force golf team continues to have a solid season, notching its second consecutive top 10 finish. The team placed ninth at the Denver Invitational (Sept. 29-30). Air Force carded a three-round total of 899 (299-292-308) for the tournament.
Sophomore Jarett Hamamoto had the best Falcon finishing, placing tied for 13th place with a three-round total of 218 (70-71-77). Hamamoto entered the final round of play in fourth place, but a five-over-par final round cost him a chance for a top five finish. Junior Adam Wasinger was just one stroke behind his teammate at 219, finishing in 15th place.
After a slow start, the Falcons regrouped and finished in sixth place after day one of the event. They were poised to make a move to the top five, but after a disappointing final round of 308, they slipped three notches to ninth place.
The Falcons will play in a tournament for the fourth consecutive weekend when they travel to Tulsa, Okla., on Oct. 6-7 to play in the Shangri La Shootout.
