Cross Country Heads To Ft. Hays Invite

Members of the Air Force cross country team hit the road this weekend, as they travel to the Fort Hays Invitational in Hays, Kansas, on Saturday, Oct. 9. The race is slated to begin at 10 a.m. on the campus of Fort Hays State University.

"RANK" YOU VERY MUCH
With 254 points, the Air Force men's cross country team is ranked 13th in the Oct. 5 national poll, as determined by the United States Cross Country Coaches Association. The men moved up in the Mountain Region rankings, taking over second place behind Colorado (fifth, nationally). They surpassed BYU, who is ranked ninth, nationally. A complete list of the national rankings are available on the third page of this release.
THE LEADERS AND BEST
Junior Brian Dumm is currently ranked third in the Mountain West Conference concerning times in an 8K race. His time of 23:51 at the Notre Dame Invitational leads a trio of Falcons - Mark Walter (fourth) and Abe Wengel (fifth) - who are ranked in the conference's top-five.
THE LEADERS AND BEST - PART II
On the women's side, Kelly Robinson recorded the seventh-best time in a 6K race, by clocking a 23:14 at the Woody Greeno Invitational. Elizabeth Catherwood's time of 23:22 (also from the WGI) is ranked eighth. Margaret Frash has the fifth-best 5K time from her 18:08 at the Notre Dame Invitational.
