The Air Force men's tennis team dropped its fourth consecutive Mountain West Conference match Friday with a 6-1 loss to BYU in Salt Lake City. The Falcons fell to 12-12 overall this season and 0-4 in the MWC.
BYU jumped out to an early 1-0 lead with victories at the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles spots. Trevor Johnson and Sky Jensen posted the only doubles victory for Air Force, winning the No. 2 match, 8-6. The No. 1 match was a key contest, as BYU's Erik Nyman and Nima Roshan edged the Falcons duo of sophomore Shannon Buck and junior Tyler McClung, 9-8. BYU won the No. 3 match, 8-4.
In singles action, Buck returned after missing three matches with a sprained ankle and lost the first MWC dual match of his career to Nyman, 6-3, 6-3. McClung improved to 3-1 in MWC play with a 7-5, 6-1 victory over Roshan at the No. 3 spot for AFA's lone win.
Air Force closes out its regular season on Saturday with a match against the University of Utah. The match will begin at 10 a.m.
