Falcons Gear Up for Pre-Nationals

The Air Force cross country team head to Terre Haute, Ind., for the annual Pre-NCAA Meet on Saturday, Oct. 15. It will be the final tune-up before the championship season gets underway for several members of the team. The race will begin with the men at 11 a.m., on the LaVern Gibson Course.
FALCONS CLAIM SECOND FORT HAYS TITLE
Backed by a fourth-place finish from Anthony D'Amato, the Air Force men's cross country won its second straight Fort Hays State Tiger Invitational in Hays, Kan., on Oct. 8. All 14 of the Air Force competitors finished within the top half of the field. D'Amato crossed the 8k finish line in a time of 25:33.91, as the Falcons won the event by 10 points over the Colorado School of Mines.
SENIORS LEAD FALCONS IN OREGON
Backed by a second-place finish by Nick Wilson and a 10th-place finish from Nicole Graham, the Air Force men's and women's cross country team concluded competition at the Willamette Invitational in Salem, Ore., on Oct. 1. Wilson's season-best time of 23:53.80 helped guide the Falcons to a third-place team finish. On the women's side, Graham clocked a 17:30.20 in the 5k race, as the team placed ninth.
WILSON EARNS SECOND WEEKLY HONOR
Nick Wilson was named the Mountain West Conference Men's Runner of the Week, the conference office announced on Oct. 5. It is the second time this season that Wilson has picked up the league's weekly award. Wilson finished second (out of 105 runners) at the Willamette Invitational in Salem, Ore. His time of 23:53.80 in the 8K race is a personal and MWC season-best.
GRAHAM NAMED MWC RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Nicole Graham was named the MWC Women's Runner of the Week on Sept. 21. The award is the first of Graham's career. It is also the second time during the three weeks of the cross country season that a member of the Air Force program has earned the weekly honor.
WILSON NAMED MWC RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Nick Wilson was named the Mountain West Conference Men's Runner of the Week on Sept. 7. The award is the first of Wilson's career and marks the seventh consecutive season that the Falcons have had at least one Mountain West Conference athlete of the week.
