Falcons Close Out Regular Season with Air Force Open

ON YOUR MARK: The Air Force cross country closes out the regular season hosting the Air Force Open this Saturday (Oct. 22) at North Monument Valley Park in Colorado Springs. It is the Falcons' only home event of the season, prior to the conference, regional and national championships.
MEN TAKE 10TH AT PRE-NATIONAL MEET
With four of the five scoring runners finishing within the top-100 of the 229-competitor Pre-Nationals Meet, the Air Force men's cross country team finished 10th. Nick Wilson led the Falcons with a 35th-place time of 24:30. Travis Patterson and Mark Walter finished 52nd and 56th, respectively, with times of 24:44 and 24:45. Jeff Gosselin rounded out the senior finishers with an 81st-place time of 25:00.
GRAHAM CONTINUES TO LEAD THE WOMEN
On the women's side, Air Force was led by senior Nicole Graham, who clocked in a 36th-place finish of 21:22. Classmate Andrea Pinchak finished 91st, with a time of 22:02, while junior Margaret Frash recorded the same time to finish 92nd.
WILSON NAMED MWC RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Nick Wilson was named the Mountain West Conference Men's Runner of the Week on Sept. 7. The award is the first of Wilson's career and marks the seventh consecutive season that the Falcons have had at least one Mountain West Conference athlete of the week.
GRAHAM NAMED MWC RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Nicole Graham was named the MWC Women's Runner of the Week on Sept. 21. The award is the first of Graham's career. It is also the second time during the three weeks of the cross country season that a member of the Air Force program has earned the weekly honor.
WILSON EARNS SECOND WEEKLY HONOR
Nick Wilson was named the MWC Men's Runner of the Week, the conference office announced on Oct. 5. It is the second time this season that Wilson has picked up the league's weekly award. Wilson finished second (out of 105 runners) at the Willamette Invitational in Salem, Ore. His time of 23:53.80 in the 8K race is a personal and MWC season-best.
CALLING ALL CAPTAINS
The Air Force cross country team selected seniors Mark Walter and Matt Hellier as the captains of the men's team, while classmate Andrea Pinchak was chosen to lead the women's squad.
