Air Force Prepares For MWC Championships

The Air Force cross country begins the championship season this weekend, as it travels to Fort Collins, Colo., for the 2005 Mountain West Conference Championships. The event will take place at the Collindale Golf Course in Fort Collins and begin with men's 8k at 10 a.m. The women's 6k is slated to go at 11 a.m., with the awards ceremony for both to follow.
UNDERCLASSMEN RUN AT AIR FORCE OPEN
Several of the Air Force cross country underclassmen competed in the Air Force Open on Oct. 22 at the Monument Valley Park in Colorado Springs. Freshman Matt Williams had the squad's best finish, placing fourth with a time of 27:10.2.
MEN TAKE 10TH AT PRE-NATIONAL MEET
With four of the five scoring runners finishing within the top-100 of the 229-competitor Pre-Nationals Meet, the Air Force men's cross country team finished 10th. Nick Wilson led the Falcons with a 35th-place time of 24:30. Travis Patterson and Mark Walter finished 52nd and 56th, respectively, with times of 24:44 and 24:45. Jeff Gosselin rounded out the senior finishers with an 81st-place time of 25:00.
GRAHAM CONTINUES TO LEAD THE WOMEN
On the women's side, Air Force was led by senior Nicole Graham, who clocked in a 36th-place finish of 21:22. Classmate Andrea Pinchak finished 91st, with a time of 22:02, while junior Margaret Frash recorded the same time to finish 92nd.
