Nicole Graham Named MWC Runner of the Week

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Air Force cross country senior Nicole Graham (Blue Springs, Mo.) was named the Mountain West Conference Women's Runner of the Week, the conference office announced today (Sept. 21).
Graham crossed the finish line fourth of all collegiate competitors at the annual Woody Greeno Invitational on Saturday (Sept. 17). Her time of 22:06 is a season-best and the second-fastest time in the Mountain West Conference this season. It was also the seventh-best time of the 277-athletes that ran in the race (including open and collegiate competitors). Graham's time guided the Falcons to a third-place overall finish in the nine-team university division.
The award is the first of Graham's career. It is also the second time during the three weeks of the cross country season that a member of the Air Force program has earned the weekly honor. Nick Wilson, won the men's award following the opening week of competition.
Graham and the Falcons are off until Saturday (Oct. 1), when they travel to Salem, Ore., for the Willamette Invitational. The rest of the squad will head north on the same day to compete in the Rocky Mountain Shootout.
