Falcons Wrap Up Competition at Air Force Open

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Sophomore Justin Mason was the top scoring Falcon as the team hosted the annual Air Force Open on Saturday, Oct. 21, at the North Monument Valley Park in Colorado Springs. Mason clocked a time of 27:29 to place sixth in the 23-competitor race.

Freshman Thomas Richter placed seventh with a time of 27:38, while classmate Zach Nordahl finished ninth with a time of 27:51. Fellow freshman Arthur Grijalva rounded out the Falcons' top-10 contingent, crossing the finish line in 27:53 to place 10th.

Sophomore Thomas Jones matched a time of 27:53 to place 11th, while freshman Austin Fritzke recorded a time of 28:05 to take 12th. Sophomore Parker Cowles finished 13th (28:14), while classmate Daniel Castle registered a time of 28:22 to take 15th. Freshmen Ryan Workman (28:97-17th) and Andy Schweitzer (29:57-19th) rounded out the group of Air Force competitors.

Up next for Air Force is the 2006 Mountain West Conference Championships, which are slated for next Saturday (Oct. 28) in Salt Lake City, Utah.
