Falcons Tied For 12th At District 7 Shootout

Las Vegas, Nev. - Firing a two-round total of 578 (+10), the Air Force golf team currently sits in a tie for 12th place at the District 7 Shootout, hosted by Hawaii at the 6,722-yard, par-71 Angel Park GC-Mountain Course. Leading in the team standings is San Diego State at 550 (-18), while Boise State's Troy Merritt sits atop the individual leaderboard at 131 (-11).
Leading the Falcons on day one of the tournament is senior Tyler Goulding (Tracy, Calif.), who is currently tied for 31st at 143 (+1). Freshman Tom Whitney (La Quinta, Calif.) sits just one stroke behind in a tie for 40th place, while sophomore Andrew Gibson (San Ramon, Calif.), is tied for 50th at 145.
Rounding out the group for Air Force are senior Chad Follett (El Paso, Texas) at 147 and junior Matt Tanis (Asbury, N.J.) at 155.
The District 7 Shootout will conclude tomorrow morning with the final round.
