Parmenter Qualifies For Olympic Trials At U.S. Open

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Air Force senior Paul Parmenter qualified for the Olympic Trials with a 17th place finish in the 200 meter individual medley prelims Thursday morning at the 2006 U.S. Open.
Parmenter swam a time of 2:07.39 which was the exact time needed to qualify. Finals results were not yet posted at the USA Swimming website.
The Falcons had two more seniors participating. Chris Knaute swam well in the 400 freestyle, placing 21st in the finals with a time of 4:03.84. Knaute was 17th after the prelims after swimming an early time of 4:02.33.
Ryan Moss, a West Lafayette native, placed 28th in the 50 free with a time of 24.14.
Day two of the three day meet resumes tomorrow.
