Air Force Competes at Trojan Diving Invitational

LOS ANGELES, Calif. - The Air Force diving team completed competition at the Trojan Diving Invite at USC's McDonald Swim Stadium this Saturday. Leading the way for the Falcons were third place finishes in the platform diving by Brady Lindberg and Danielle Dowds.
In the non-team scoring two-day event, the Falcon divers competed in the one-meter and three-meter dives on Friday and the platform diving on Saturday.
In the men's 1m finals, freshman Kyle Van Valkenburg placed fourth with 269.70 points. Lindberg took fifth with 259.15 points. In the 3m finals Lindberg led the way for Air Force, taking fourth with 267.60 points and Van Valkenburg following up in fifth place with 240.70 points.
In the women's 1m finals, Dowds placed 11th with 204.50 points and Amy Get placed 12th with 183.40 points. Lauren Bursey placed 16th with 186.90 points and Emily Shanes took 18th with 180.15 points in the prelims.
Dowds led the way in the 3m finals with a 9th placed finish with 223.05 points. In the prelims, Get placed 17th with 196.85 points, Bursey 18th with 195.40 points and Shanes 19th with 185.90 points.
On Saturday, Lindberg placed third in the platform dive with 251.20 points and Van Valkenburg placed fourth with 210.90 points. On the women's side, Dowds took third with 209.55 points. Bursey placed eighth with 164.35 points and Get took 11th with 155.50 points.
The Falcons return to action Nov. 9 with a dual meet against TCU at the Academy.
