Falcon Duo Completes Day Three Action At U.S. Open

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Air Force swimming seniors Chris Knaute and Paul Parmenter both notched strong swims in the final day of action at the 2006 U.S. Open the Boilermaker Aquatics Center on the Purdue University campus.
Knaute finished 17th in the 100 meter and 21st in the 1500 freestyle events. The senior from Houston, Texas, swam a 52.32 in the prelims to take 17th and then jumped up one spot to 16th with a swim of 53.33 in the finals. Knaute then swam the 1500 in 16:12.38.
Parmenter swam the 200 butterfly event, placing 26th with a time of 2:06.79.
Both seniors have qualified for the Olympic Trials as Parmenter qualified in the 200 individual medley on Thursday and Knaute the 400 IM on Friday.
