U.S.A.F. ACADEMY, Colo. -- Air Force sophomore forward Eric Ehn earned College Hockey America Offensive Player of the Week honors for his performance against Wayne State, March 3-4.
Ehn led the Falcons to their first conference road sweep since Nov. 18-19, 2004. He scored a goal in each game as Air Force defeated Wayne State, 3-1 and 5-3.
In Friday's win, Ehn scored the game's first goal one minute into the second period to give the Falcons a lead they would never relinquish. On Saturday, Ehn had two points to complete a three-point series. His first goal came just 48 seconds after the Warriors cut the Falcon lead to 2-1 late in the first period. He then tallied the first assist on Matt Charbonneau's goal late in the second period that ended up being the game winner.
On the weekend, Ehn won 71 percent of his faceoffs. Heading into the CHA Tournament beginning Friday, Ehn has scored a goal in four of his last five games and has at least one point in eight of his last 11 games.
Air Force finished the regular season at 11-19-1 overall and 8-12 in the CHA. The Falcons are the No. 5 seed in the tournament and will face No. 4 Robert Morris in the CHA quarterfinals, Friday, March 10 at 3:35 p.m. EST at the Michigan State Fairgrounds Coliseum in Detroit.
