Air Force Women Take Second at Utah Fall Festival

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - Backed by four top-10 finishes, the Air Force women's cross country team finished second at the Utah Fall Twilight Festival on Friday, Sept. 29, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Junior Kelly Robinson clocked a 6k-time of 22:53 to finish fourth in the field of 51. Robinson was one of four Falcons to finish within the top-10. Freshman Brittany Morreale registered a time of 22:57 to place sixth, while senior Margaret Frash and freshman Allison Romanko finished ninth and 10th, respectively, with times of 23:24 and 23:32.
Three other Falcons finished within the top half of the field. Freshman Katherine Anderson placed 20th with a time of 24:19, while junior Kate Papenberg (24:58) and freshman Danielle Snider (25:34) placed 25th and 29th. Classmate Sara Juback and sophomore Jamie Illig rounded out the Air Force contingent, placing 29th (25:53) and 33rd (26:36), respectively.
Overall, Utah Valley State won the meet with 29 points, while Air Force finished second with 49 points. Nevada (87 points) and Westminster (155 points) rounded out the five-team field.
The results for the men's race were not released at this time.
Air Force returns to action next Saturday (Oct. 7), as it travels to Hays, Kan., for the annual Fort Hays Invitational.
