The Air Force men's tennis team suffered its fourth consecutive defeat Friday, dropping a 6-1 decision to Eastern Washington University at the Academy. The Eagles took two of the three doubles matches and five of six singles matches to drop Air Force to 0-4 this spring.
All three doubles matches were hotly contested, with two of them going to a tiebreaker. Unfortunately for the Falcons, EWU won those two. Pannhara Mam and Kyle Schrader pulled out a 9-8 (6) victory at the No. 1 spot over seniors Robby Alexander and Ryan White. EWU also won the No. 3 match in a tiebreaker as Patrick Millican and John Davis beat senior Keith Cronican and freshman James Tomlin, 9-8 (5). The Falcons' No. 2 team of freshmen Brett Rodgers and Mike Youn downed Daniel Pez and Art Karas, 8-5.
In singles play, Youn captured the No. 3 match for Air Force, defeating Pez, 7-6(3), 4-6, 1-0(8).The only other match to go three sets was a t No. 5, where EWU's Keithan Gregg beat White 4-6, 7-5, 1-0(6).
Air Force hosts Minnesota on Sunday at the Academy. The match begins at 10 a.m.
