Falcons Shut Out by DU, 7-0

The Air Force men's tennis team saw its four-match winning streak snapped Saturday when the University of Denver Pioneers downed the Falcons, 7-0, at the Academy. The 58th-ranked Pioneers improved to 5-1, while Air Force fell to 4-6.
DU captured the doubles point with wins at the Nos. 1 and 3 spots. Air Force won the No. 2 match as freshmen Brett Rodgers and Mike Youn paired for an 8-7 victory over Nejc Smole and Rav Dhatt. The Falcon dup won the tiebreak, 7-4.
The Pioneers swept the six singles matches, five of them in straight sets. The best match was at the No. 3 spot, where DU's Timo Kienle rallied from a set down to beat Youn, 3-6, 7-5, (10-6).
The falcons return to action next Friday, Feb. 23 when they host Weber State (10 a.m.) and Northern Colorado (2 p.m.).
