Falcons Head To 2007 MWC Swimming & Diving Championships

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force looks to cap it's 2006-07 season off on a high note as the men's and women's teams head to the 2007 Mountain West Conference Swimming & Diving Championships this week in Oklahoma City, Okla. The event begins this Wednesday, Feb. 21, and runs till Saturday, Feb. 24. Live stats will be available for the entire meet.
The Falcon men's team finished the regular season in third place and look to improve upon its third place finish at the 2006 MWC Championships. Air Force will lean on its senior duo of co-captains Chris Knaute and Paul Parmenter to lead the way.
The Falcon women's team finished the regular season in eighth place and look to better their eighth place finish in 2006. Senior captain Blair Leake and sophomore Jane Hwang will be expected to lead the way for Air Force.
The men's team features defending MWC Champions in five events. Knaute is the reigning champion in the 500 and 1650 yard freestyle and 400 individual medley events. Parmenter is the school record-holder and defending champion in the 200 IM. Fellow senior Brady Lindberg is the defending platform diving champion.
On the women's side senior Blair Leake is the school record holder in the 200 breaststroke and will be one of the favorites in both breast events. Junior Danielle Dowds was the runner-up in the platform diving a year ago and will be looking to score high this year as well.
