Air Force Swimming & Diving Splits Dual With Wyoming

USAF ACADEMY, Colo. - The Air Force men's and women's swimming and diving team split its dual meet this Saturday to conclude the 2006-07 regular season. The men's team downed the Cowboys, 141-101, while the Cowgirls downs the women's team 137-92.
Senior Chris Knaute won three individual events to lead the way for the Falcon men's team, which took first place in nine of 13 events, including the first five in a row to start the meet. Knaute won the 200, 500 and 1000 yard freestyle events.
Air Force also go wins from the 400 medley and 400 free relay teams. Sophomore TJ Cowling has a great day in the sprint free events, winning both the 50 and 100 free. Senior Paul Parmenter won the 200 individual medley and sophomore Kai Yamashiro took the 200 backstroke.
The Falcon women's team won five events on the day. The women opened the meet by winning the 400 medley relay. Senior Lauren White then followed up by winning the 1000 free in the next event. Sophomore Jane Hwang won the 100 free and senior Blair Leake the 200 breaststroke. The Falcons concluded the meet by winning the 400 free relay.
The Air Force men's team concludes it's 2006-07 regular season with a 13-3 overall and 3-2 Mountain West Conference record. The women's team went 4-10, 0-8.
Fourteen seniors competed in their final home meet at the Cadet Natatorium, nine men and five women.
The Falcons return to action Feb. 21-24 at the 2007 MWC Swimming & Diving Championships in Oklahoma City, Okla.
