Knaute Places 21st In 1650 Free At NCAA Championships

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Air Force senior Chris Knaute capped off his Air Force swimming career by taking 21st in the men's 1650 yard freestyle at the 2007 NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championships at the University of Minnesota.
Knaute swam a time of 15:20.86 which was about a second off his career-best and school record time. The senior from Houston, Texas, also swam in the 500 free on Thursday, placing 21st, and the 400 IM on Friday, placing 17th.
Saturday's action capped off the collegiate career of one of the Falcons' most decorated swimmers. Knaute finishes with two Mountain West Conference Men's Swimmer of the Year honors and is a two-time NCAA honorable mention All-American. The senior from Houston, Texas, owns four individual school records and five overall. He is also a nine-time MWC Champion which is tied for the most by any athlete in any conference sport.
