Air Force Wraps Up Competition At Lone Star Duals

Grand Prairie, Texas - Getting its dual slate off to a start, the Air Force wrestling team went 0-3 at the Lone Star Duals Saturday. The Falcons fell to Eastern Michigan, 20-12, Appalachian State, 25-9, and Brown, 19-15.
Picking up wins for the Falcons against Eastern Michigan were seniors Jake Kriegbaum (Abilene, Kan.) and Anthony Stegeman (Cincinnati, Ohio) and juniors Stephen Crozier (Monona, Iowa) and Jordan Tribble (Midwest City, Okla.). Kriegbaum registered a 5-0 decision at 141 pounds, Crozier won a 9-4 decision at 165 pounds, Tribble picked up a 7-1 decision at 197 pounds and heavyweight Stegeman recorded a 6-2 decision.
Tribble and Stegeman also recorded decisions in the Falcons' 25-9 loss to Appalachian State. Tribble won his match with a 3-1 decision, while Stegeman outscored his opponent 3-0. Also scoring for Air Force was sophomore Justin Shadrix (Bremen, Ga.), who notched an 11-6 decision at 174 pounds.
In its closest match of the day, the Falcons registered five decisions against Brown. Seniors Zach Valdez (Parker, Colo.), Tony Dorward (Seattle, Wash.) and Jacob Devlin (Livingston, N.J.) each picked up their first wins of the day versus the Bears. Valdez notched an 8-4 win at 125 pounds, Dorward scored a 4-3 victory at 157 pounds and Devlin won a 7-4 decision at 184 pounds. Crozier won for the second time on the day, registering a 6-4 decision in his bout, while Tribble remained undefeated in the three matches, picking up a 7-5 decision.
The Falcons return to action next weekend, Jan. 12, when they travel to Alamosa, Colo., for a dual meet versus Adams State.
