Johnson Stays Hot

He scored a career-high 20 points on Nov. 26 at Stanford, followed up with a game-high 17 points against Norfolk State, scored 19 against Northern Illinois, then matched his career-high with 20 at Northern Colorado on Saturday. He was 8-of-10 from the field at UNC and is shooting 71.4 percent (25-of-35) in his last four games. Johnson currently leads the team in scoring at 15.1 points per game.
Holland Cools Down, But Not Much
Despite making just two of his six field goal attempts Saturday at Northern Colorado, senior Matt Holland hasn't missed many shots lately. Holland, who entered the season shooting 45 percent from the field for his career, is still No. 2 in the Mountain West Conference in field-goal percentage (64.9%) and three-point percentage (53.1%).
Holland posted career-highs of 22 points and nine rebounds in the Falcons' 86-65 victory over UCCS at the Reggie Minton Air Force Classic, then followed up with a 13-point, four-rebound performance against Wofford to earn a place on the all-Classic team.
Holland went 8-of-10 from the field and 5-of-6 from three-point range en route to a game-high 21 points on Dec. 3 in Air Force's 67-55 victory over Northern Illinois.
Falcons No. 3 in Country in Shooting the 3-Ball
Air Force is ranked No. 3 in the nation in three-point percentage at 45.4 percent. California leads the country at 50.5 percent, followed by Arizona at 45.8 percent. Individually, senior Andrew Henke is ranked ninth in the nation, shooting 53.7 percent from three-point range.
Up Next
The Falcons are idle for nine days before taking on Texas Southern on Monday, Dec. 22 beginning at 7 p.m. at Clune Arena.
Nearly Unbeatable at Clune
The Falcons have been close to unbeatable at Clune Arena the last five-plus seasons. Since the beginning of the 2003-04 season, Air Force has won 73 of its 80 home games, including 38 of its 40 non-conference games.
In addition, the Falcons have won 35 of their 40 Mountain West Conference games at Clune Arena during that stretch.
Henke No. 3 in Three-Point Pct.
Senior Andrew Henke is No. 3 on Air Force's career list for three-point percentage at 43.3 percent. He is 22-of-41 (53.7%) this season, which leads the Mountain West Conference.
Stewart Makes Immediate Impact ...
Freshman Taylor Stewart became the first Air Force freshman to record a double-double since 2000 when he scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds against CSU Bakersfield on Nov. 16. Tom Bellairs was the last freshman to have a double-double in his first season at Air Force and he had eight of them during the 1999-2000 campaign.
Stewart is also the first Falcon freshman to score in double figures in his first three collegiate games since David Schuck during the 1997-98 campaign.
... So Does Noonan
Freshman Trevor Noonan was also very impressive against CSU Bakersfield. After playing just two minutes in the season-opener against Western State, Noonan broke out with eight points and a team season-high five assists in 17 minutes against the Roadrunners.
Three-Point Streak
Air Force has made a three-point shot in 488 consecutive games. The last time the Falcons failed to make a three-pointer was Dec. 4, 1991 in a 57-51 victory over Adams State College.
Henke Hits Career-High at UNC
Senior Andrew Henke scorched Northern Colorado for a career-high 23 points last Saturday in Greeley, Colo. Henke, who is second on the team in scoring at 13.3 points per game, was 6-of-9 from the field, including a 5-of-7 performance from three-point range. Henke currently leads the Mountain West Conference in three-point percentage at 53.7 percent (22-of-41) and has made at least four 3-pointers in three games this season.
Reggie Minton Air Force Classic
Air Force hosted a regular-season men's tournament for the second consecutive season Nov. 22-23 at Clune Arena. Joining the Falcons for the Reggie Minton Air Force Classic were Texas-Pan American, UCCS and Wofford. Minton was Air Force's head basketball coach from 1984-2000 and was the 2000 Mountain West Conference Co-Coach of the Year. Minton is currently the associate executive director of the National Association of Basketball Coaches. Here are the results from the Reggie Minton Air Force Classic:

Seniors Dominate Against Northern Illinois
The Falcons' three seniors, Andrew Henke, Anwar Johnson and Matt Holland, combined for 54 of Air Force's 67 points last Wednesday against Northern Illinois. They also combined for 10 rebounds and nine assists.
For the season, the trio is averaging 40.5 points and 11.8 rebounds per contest. Henke and Johnson have each scored double figures in seven of the team's eight games, while Holland has scored 10 or more points in five of eight games.
Parker Playing Solid
Junior Grant Parker is making the most of his playing time this season. After playing in just 14 games his first two seasons at Air Force, he has appeared in all eight this season and is averaging 6.6 points and 5.1 rebounds per contest. He is second on the team in rebounding and fourth in the MWC in offensive rebounds at 2.5 per game.
Parker scored a career-high 15 points against Wofford on Nov. 23 and grabbed a career-best nine rebounds against CSU Bakersfield and Northern Illinois.
Reynolds Captures 100th Career Win
Jeff Reynolds won his 100th career game as a head coach earlier this season. The Falcons' victory over CSU Bakersfield on Nov. 16 was his 18th at Air Force. He won 21 games in his only season as head coach at North Carolina Wesleyan, then won 61 in three seasons at Wingate College.
6-2 Ties Third-Best Start Ever
Air Force's 6-2 record ties the third-best start ever in program history after eight games. This is the 12th season in the 53-year history of the program that a Falcon team has been 6-2.
Two Air Force teams (2005-06 and `06-07) opened with a 7-1 record.
