Falcons Fall, 6-1, at Weber State

The Weber State men's tennis team picked up its third straight win on Sunday with a 6-1 win over the Air Force Academy at the Ogden Athletic Club. The Falcons, who had their four-match win streak snapped, fell to 5-3 this season.
The Wildcats swept all three doubles matches, winning 8-5 at No. 1, 8-6 in the second spot and 8-4 at No. 3.
In singles, sophomore Brett Rodgers captured AFA's lone victory, rallying from a set down to defeat Fabio Mancarella, 6-7, 7-6, (10-7) at the No. 1 spot. The Wildcats took the two-through-six spots all in straight sets.
Henning Hipp defeated Austin Francis at No. 2, winning 6-3, 7-6. Sascha Kiehne earned a win at No. 3, downing James Tomlin 6-1, 6-2. Nick Plum beat Taylor Soster 7-5, 6-2 at No. 4, Chris Williams defeated Johnny Buckingham 6-4, 6-4 at No. 5 and Travis Covington dispatched Greg Ferry 6-2, 6-1 in the six spot.
Air Force returns home for three matches next weekend at the Academy, beginning with Wichita State visiting on Friday, Feb. 22 at 2 p.m.
