Air Force Wraps Up Day Two at MWC Championship

TUCSON, Ariz. - With just one round remaining, the Air Force golf team sits in ninth place at the 2009 Mountain West Conference Championship, being held at the par-71, 7,136-yard OMNI Tucson National Golf Club. Through two rounds, the Falcons have recorded posted a team score of 591 (+23).
Senior captain Shaun O'Bryant (Colorado Springs, Colo.) and sophomore Aaron White (Hereford, Texas) each turned in a round of 74 on Saturday to lead the Falcons in the second round. O'Bryant and White are now tied, along with freshman Robert Belz (San Antonio, Texas), for 36th place in the individual standings with a two-round total of 149.
Meanwhile, junior Tom Whitney (La Quinta, Calif.) is Air Force's individual leader after two days of action, tied for 30th place at 147 (+5). Also competing for the Falcons is sophomore Kyle Bailey (Austin, Texas), tied for 33rd place at 148.
TCU remains atop the team leaderboard entering the final day with a score of 556 (-12) while New Mexico's Steve Saunders has taken over the top spot in the individual standings with a two-round score of 133 (-9).
The 2009 MWC Championship concludes tomorrow, with the first tee times scheduled for 7:00 a.m (PT).
