Air Force Swimming Competes Well At Denver Relays

DENVER, Colo. - The Air Force men's and women's swim teams competed well at the Denver Relays Saturday afternoon at the El Pomar Natatorium. The men's team took second place in team competition, while the women's team placed fourth.
Meet host Denver swept the relays, taking first in both men's and women's competition.
The Falcon men's team took second overall in 7-of-10 events, highlighted by their win in the 100 yard medley relay. The Air Force women's team finished in the top five in five events, with a pair of third place finishes in the 100 and 400 free relays.
The Falcon men took first in the 100 medley relay with a time of 42.37. The group of Matt Millikin, Cody Deacon, Nate Roesler and Cole Smith combined for the win.
Air Force also had several close second place finishes in the 300 breaststroke, 100 free, 400 medley and 400 free relays. The group of Benjamin Gunn, Angus MacDonald and Millikin clocked a time of 2:33.95 in the 3x300 breastsroke relay. Gunn, Deacon, MacDonald and Smith clocked a time of 38.07 in the 100 free relay. Gunn, Paul Leonhardt, Deacon and Smith swam a time of 3:30.61 in the 400 medley relay. And Gunn, Smith, Robert Dawson and Leonhardt swam a time of 42.37 in the 100 medley relay.
The Falcon women had a pair of third place and a pair of fourth place finishes. In the 100 free relay, the group of Alison Ceranski, Cassie Fletcher, Samantha Laughlin and Hannah Cesare clocked a time of 44.48. In the 400 free relay, the group of Laughlin, Fletcher, Alivia Berg and Cesare clocked a time of 3:36.59.
The men's team return to action Oct. 22 at TCU. The women's team returns to action Oct. 23 in Albuquerque, N.M., in a meet against New Mexico, Colorado State and San Diego State.
