Four Air Force Shooters Finish in Top 8

Four members of the Air Force Academy rifle team saw action at the 2010 USA Winter Air Gun Championships this past weekend at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., all finished in the top 8. Air Force junior Pat Everson was the school's top finisher. Everson finished fifth overall in the 10m air rifle junior competition with a final score of 685.1. Teammate, sophomore Ben York, finished in sixth place in the event with a score of 681.4. Senior Tom Chandler finished in seventh place overall in the 10m air rifle men's competition with a final score of 689.7. The team's fourth highest finisher was junior Kyle Phillips, who finished with a total of 678.9 points to finish in eighth place overall in the 10m air rifle junior competition.
In the women's competitions, freshman Alexis Todaro finished the weekend with an overall 380 average in the 10m air rifle women's open and junior championships. Throughout the weekend, she scored a 381, 383 and 378, respectively, in both competitions. Freshman Stormy Sagmoen finished with an overall 374.6 average in the two events with scores of 379, 377 and 368, respectively.
Rounding out the team's scores for Day 1, Dec. 3, in the 10m air rifle men's competition: Chandler was seventh with a score of 589, shooting a 100.7 in the finals for his overall standing (689.7), also competing: Everson 16th/585; York 23rd/581; junior Robert Vasquez 26th/580; junior Mike Seery 36th/575; Phillips 39th/573; sophomore Matt Kluckman 45th/565.
Day 2, Dec. 4 -- 10m air rifle men's results: Chandler 18th/587; Vasquez 38th/576; York 41st/575; Seery 44th/575; Kluckman 51st/571; Everson 53rd/569; Phillips 54th/569.
Day 3, Dec. 5 - 10m air rifle men's results: Phillips 21st/582; Vasquez 28th/579; Seery 33rd/576; Everson 40th/571; York 44th/564; Kluckman 48th/561 (Chandler 63nd/dns).
Rounding out the team's scores for Day 1, Dec. 3 in the 10m air rifle Junior competition: Everson was fifth with a score of 585 and shot a 100.1 in the finals for his overall standing (685.1), while York finished sixth with a score of 581, shooting a 100.4 in the finals for his overall standing (681.4), also competing: Seery 19th/575; Phillips 22nd/573; Kluckman 27th/565.
Day 2, Dec. 4 - 10m air rifle junior results: York 17th/575; Seery 20th/575; Kluckman 27th/571; Everson 28th/569; Phillips 29th/569.
Day 3, Dec. 5 - 10m air rifle junior results: Phillips finishes in eighth place with a score of 582 and added 96.9 points in the finals for an overall score of 678.9. Seery finished in 19th place with a score of 576; Everson 25th/571; York 29th/564; Kluckman 32nd/561.
