Air Force in 10th Place at Border Olympics

LAREDO, Texas -
With a two-round score of 598 (+22), the Air Force golf team sits in 10th place at the Border Olympics, hosted by Houston at the par-72, 7,241-yard Laredo Country Club.
Freshman Andrew Hoops (Highland, Calif.) is leading the Falcons after one day of action, tied for 22nd place. Hoops shot a 1-under-par 71 in the second round and now sits at 147 (+3) entering the final round of competition. Meanwhile, senior Tom Whitney (La Quinta, Calif.) sits one stroke behind in a tie for 27th place.
Sophomore Caleb Leestma (Seabrook, Texas) is tied for 42nd in the individual standings with a score of 151, while Kyle Bailey (Jr., Austin, Texas) and Robert Belz (So., San Antonio, Texas) are tied for 69th place and in 79th place, respectively.
Lamar leads the team standings at 573 (-3), while Baylor's Joakim Mikkelsen sits atop the individual leaderboard at 138 (-6).
The Falcons conclude competition at the Border Olympics tomorrow morning.
