Air Force Travels to SDSU, UNLV This Weekend

The Air Force men's tennis team plays two Mountain West Conference opponents on the road this weekend, beginning on Friday, April 9 against San Diego State at 3 p.m. The Falcons will then face UNLV on Sunday, April 11 at 10 a.m.
Air Force enters the weekend with a 10-7 overall record, an 0-2 mark in the MWC and a five-match losing streak. The Falcons lost to BYU (6-1) and Utah (5-2) at home last week. Freshman Lance Wilhelm continues to lead the team with an impressive 20-9 overall singles record and a 13-4 record at the No. 1 spot. He defeated Evan Urbina of BYU, 6-1, 3-6, 7-6(2) last week, AFA's first singles win over the Cougars since 2006.
San Diego State is 6-11 overall and 1-0 in league play entering Friday's match. The Aztecs, which re-entered the national rankings at No. 75 this week, defeated the University of San Diego, 4-3, on Wednesday. Air Force is 2-22 all-time against SDSU and hasn't beaten the Aztecs since Feb. 25, 1989.
UNLV, meanwhile, is 10-8 overall and 0-1 in the MWC entering its match against New Mexico on Friday. The Rebels, ranked 66th in the nation, lost their conference opener, 4-3, to TCU last week. The Falcons are 2-11 all-time vs. UNLV, with their last victory coming in 2003.
