Buck Blackwood, Strength and Conditioning Director

Buck Blackwood began his coaching career at the Air Force Academy in 2003. Prior to being hired full-time, Blackwood was a volunteer coach for two years at USAFA, and spent three years as the graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at Montana State University. Blackwood received his B.A. degree from Willamette University in 1997 and his M.S. degree in exercise science from Montana State University in 1999. Active in national organizations surrounding his profession, he is certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association and the United States Weightlifting Federation. Blackwood has been published in numerous professional journals and he also has presented to national and international coaches on the area of performance training. Originally from Bozeman, MT., Blackwood and his wife, Lyndsay, have one son and daughter, Ridge and Reese. .
Drew Bodette, Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

Drew Bodette began his career with the Air Force in the fall of 2007. Prior to his position here, Bodette was the Director of Strength and conditioning at his alma mater, The University of Northern Colorado, where he received his Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and his Masters degree in Exercise physiology. Bodette also spent five years at the University of Denver as an assistant strength coach for the National Championship Hockey teams. Before his position at Denver, he served as an assistant at the University of Pittsburgh, in Pennsylvania for the 2000-01 season.
He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and also senior level club coach through the United States Weightlifting Federation.
Bodette, originally from South Glens Falls, New York, and his wife Amy reside in Colorado Springs.
Kim Pinske, Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

Kim Pinske began coaching at the Air Force Academy in August of 2007. Pinske received her B.S. in Sport and Recreation Management in 2003 from the University of Minnesota and her M.S. in Health, Nutrition and Exercise Science in 2007 from North Dakota State University.
While earning her undergraduate degree, she was a defensive specialist/libero for the volleyball team where she was chosen as a two-time captain, four time academic All-Conference selection, and was named an NSCA All-American.
While at NDSU, she served as a strength and conditioning graduate assistant under Jim Kramer and in 2005 was promoted into the role of Associate Director for Athletic Performance. Pinske is CSCS and TSAC-F certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association, is Sport Performance Coach certified by USA Weightlifting (USAW), and serves as a USAW referee. Pinske also serves in the Army Reserves as a Military Police Officer, and earned her commission from the United States Army Officer Candidate School at Ft. Benning, GA in 2014. Her first assignment was as a Platoon Leader in the 308th Military Police Internment/Resettlement Company, and deployed to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba in 2016 for a Detention Operations mission. Next, she served as the Plans Officer for the 244th Engineering Battalion, then served as the S1 Human Resources Officer for the 1-104th Military Police Training Battalion. Currently, she serves as the S3 Operations Officer for the 1-104th Military Police Training Battalion.
Pinske, Originally from Gary, MN, resides in Colorado Springs with her husband Marco Gonzalez Lara.
MSgt. Tyler Speck, Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

MSgt Tyler Speck began coaching with the Air Force Academy in October of 2022. He graduated with a bachelor's in health and exercise science from Colorado State University in 2020. While in school, he completed a performance internship with EXOS at their headquarters in Phoenix, AZ. Before attending CSU, he served on active duty as an intelligence analyst at Creech AFB. In 2012, he deployed to Northern Africa in support of Joint Special Operations Command. Prior to the Air Force Academy, he was the hockey strength and conditioning coach at Resurrection Christian School and a performance coach at Integrity Sports Performance in Northern Colorado. He still serves as NCOIC of ISR Integration at USSTARCOM.
MSgt Speck is a certified strength and conditioning coach with the National Strength and Conditioning Association and an EXOS Performance Specialist (XPS). Originally from Omaha, NE, MSgt Speck now resides in Colorado Springs with his wife Alyssa and daughter Scarlett.
Taylor Lorbiecki, Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

Taylor Lorbiecki joined the Air Force Academy in January of 2018 and currently works with the volleyball and rifle teams. Prior to coming to the Academy, Lorbiecki was the director of sports performance at Edge Fitness & Sports Performance in Windsor, Wisconsin. Before that, she was the head strength and conditioning coach for the University of Wisconsin-Platteville women's basketball team for two seasons. Lorbiecki also completed performance internships with the United States Ski and Snowboard Association in Park City, Utah, in addition to spending a summer with EXOS at their North Carolina facility.
Originally from Verona, Wisconsin, Lorbiecki resides in Colorado Springs.
Bryce Taylor, Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

Bryce Taylor began coaching with the Air Force Academy in January of 2018. Prior to the Air Force Academy he was an assistant strength and conditioning coach for Alabama State University. There he spent two years working with the men's basketball, softball and bowling teams. Before his position at Alabama State University he graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a B.S. degree in exercise science. Prior to graduating from the university, Taylor interned as a strength and conditioning coach for two years and also played cornerback for the Loper football team helping them win two conference championship.
Taylor is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Brad Raines, Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

Brad Raines began coaching with the Air Force Academy in February of 2019. He graduated with a bachelor's in management from the University of New Orleans in 2005. Shortly after, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served six years as a firefighter while stationed at Luke and Keesler Air Force Bases. He was also deployed with a Joint Operations Task Force to Jordan and Saudi Arabia in 2008. Prior to the Air Force Academy, he was an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Loyola University of New Orleans, where he spent two years working with women's volleyball, baseball, cross country, golf and tennis. While serving in that role, he was also a firefighter/EMT with Jefferson Parish Fire Department.
Brad received his master's degree in sports management with a concentration in coaching theory and strategy from American Military University. Raines is also a certified strength and conditioning coach with the National Strength and Conditioning Association as well as an advanced sports performance coach by USA Weightlifting and USA Track and Field Level 1 Coach.
Originally from New Orleans, LA, Raines now resides in Colorado Springs.
Will Quillman, Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

Will Quillman began coaching with the Air Force Academy in August of 2017 and is currently working with the football team. He received a bachelor's of sciences with a double minor in strength and conditioning/nutrition from Lindenwood University. In 2018, he earned a master's of sciences in sports medicine with an emphasis in strength and conditioning from the University of Colorado Springs. Prior to his arrival at the Air Force Academy, he spent time as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach with men's basketball, women's golf and track & field.
Will is a certified strength and conditioning coach with the National Strength and Conditioning Association as well as a sports performance coach through USA Weightlifting.
Originally from St. Louis, MO, Quillman now resides in Colorado Springs.
Brett Nethery, Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach

Brett Nethery began coaching at USAFA as an assistant football strength and conditioning coach in October 2022. Currently, he is a PE instructor at USAFA and continues to serve as an assistant strength coach for the football program.
He earned his bachelor of science from the University of Wisconsin in 2017. Before joining USAFA, Brett was an assistant athletic performance coach at Liberty University, working with baseball and men's & women's track and field from May 2018. He also gained experience as a strength and conditioning intern with Louisiana State University Football (2017-2018) and the University of Wisconsin men's and women's track and field and softball (2016-2017).
Brett is a certified strength and conditioning coach with the National Strength and Conditioning Association. Originally from Greendale, Wisconsin, Nethery currently resides in Colorado Springs with his wife, Molly, and daughter, Gwendolyn.
