Air Force vs. Wyoming Post-Game Notes (Sept. 25, 2010)
Team Notes
Today's game captains were Chaz Demerath, Kyle Halderman, ,Andre Morris and Anthony Wright, Jr.
Air Force has now scored in 211 consecutive games, dating back to the 1992 Liberty Bowl (13-0 loss to Mississippi). AFA's streak is the fourth longest active streak in the country and the 15th longest in the history of the NCAA.
Wyoming's second quarter touchdown ended a streak of seven consecutive quarters that the Falcons had shutout the Cowboys dating back to 2008.
Air Force has out-rushed its opponents in seven straight games dating back to the Army game in 2009.
Air Force has not allowed a point in the fourth quarter this season. The Falcons have outscored their opponents 47-0 in the fourth quarter this season.
Air Force is 18-3 under coach Troy Calhoun when a Falcon rushes for 100 or more yards. Jared Tew rushed for 136 today.
AFA has now won five straight in the series against Wyoming. The Falcons have won three straight in Laramie. AFA's five-game winning streak is the longest the series by either team.
Individual Notes
Jon Davis had his first tackle for loss and first interception on consecutive plays in the first quarter. The interception was the fourth of his career. In the fourth quarter, he recovered his first fumble of the season. The turnovers were the eighth and ninth of his career (four interceptions, three forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries).
Fullback Jared Tew's136 rushing yards are a season high. It marks the second straight year he has rushed for 100 or more yards vs. Wyoming. His 136 rushing yards today are the most since he rushed for 173 yards in the 2009 Armed Forces Bowl vs. Houston. It also marks the first time this year he has led the team in rushing. It was his fifth career 100-yard game.
Quarterback Tim Jefferson's 50-yard punt in the first quarter was the longest of his career and the longest by any Falcons this season. All three of his punts season have been downed inside the 20.
Jefferson rushed for 94 yards today, marking the first time in his career he has rushed for 90 or more yards in back-to-back games. He his 94 today and 96 last week at Oklahoma. His career high is 99 vs. UNLV in 2008
Jared Tew's second quarter touchdown run marked the second straight game he has scored a TD.
Defensive back P.J. Adeji-Paul's six tackles today are a career high. His previous high was three vs. Minnesota in 2009. Adeji-Paul's start today was his first of the season and third of his career. Adeji-Paul had the first forced fumble of his career.
Defensive lineman Zach Payne's five tackles today are a career high. His previous high was three vs. BYU earlier this season.
Tight end Chaz Demerath tied his career high with two catches in today's game. He also had two receptions vs. Nicholls State in 2009.
Defensive back Brian Lindsay has had a tackle for loss in every game this season.
Fullback Nathan Walker's TD in the fourth quarter was his third of the season, the second most of any Falcon this season.
