USA Shooting National Championships for Rifle Start June 3

U.S. Air Force Academy, Colo. - June 3, 2013 - Members of the Air Force Academy rifle team are competing in the USA Shooting National Championships for rifle this week in Fort Benning, Ga. Competing in rifle from Air Force are Tyler Rico, Craig O'Daniel and David Higgins. From June 3-9, more than 500 competitors will vie for national titles across the rifle and pistol disciplines at the home of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit (USAMU) in Fort Benning.
All three team members will compete in the men's three-position rifle, men's prone and the men's air rifle matches.
Also competing are former Academy competitors, Michael Seery and Mike Phillips both graduated in 2012 along with Mike Anti assistant coach.
There is added emphasis on this year's National Championships as it will also serve as a World Cup selection match with the top-three finishers in each Olympic event open class earning a berth in the upcoming World Cup in Granada, Spain in July.
The National Championships also determine the National and National Junior Team members for the year with medalists in the Olympic event open classes earning spots on the National Team and the top-two juniors in each Olympic event earning spots on the National Junior Team.
