
Falcon women fall to Cowgirls in swimming

U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo.. - The Air Force men's swimming team defeated Wyoming, 154-146, in a meet on Saturday, Oct. 25, at the Academy's Cadet Natatorium. The Falcon women fell to the Cowgirls, 159.50-140.50.
In the men's meet, the 200-yard medley relay of Devon Davis, Michael Barnosky, Ryan Dunne and Jordan Dahle won with a time of 1:30.29. The 400 free relay team of George Frank, Michael Hannigan, Dahle and Dunne won with a time of 3:02.61. Dunne also won the 100 fly (50.00) and the 50 free (21.04). Frank was second in the 50 free (21.08). Barnosky won the 100 breast (56.00). The Falcons swept the 100 back as Devon Davis won (49.50) while Kris Tillery was second (52.26) and Joey Gebhart (52.91).
In men's diving, Nathanial Zillweger won the one-meter (307.50 point) and the three-meter (315.08). Dominic Vallejo was second on the one-meter (296.63).
On the women's side, sophomore Genevieve Miller won three events, the 1000 free (10:34.99), the 200 free (1:53.74) and the 500 free (5:06.71). Senior Kim Davis won two events, the 200 free (1:52.77) and the 200 IM (2:08.58). Freshman Jinan Andrews won the 50 free (24.15) and the 100 free (52.54). Freshman Elise Hart also won two events, the 100 back (57.48) and the 100 fly (57.33). Junior Sara Menke had a pair of second-place finishes to her teammate Miller, the 500 free (5:07.88) and the 1000 free (10.37.00). In women's diving, Lainie Long won the three-meter with 241.05 points.
Both teams are off until Nov. 8 when they host a meet at the Cadet Natatorium. The women will battle Grand Canyon and Denver while the men will compete against Grand Canyon.
