Air Force Wrestling With Three Wins At Cowboy Open

Stafford earned Outstanding Wrestler honors in the Cowboy Open's Elite Division, going 4-0 en route to the title at 165 pounds. Stafford posted two falls and two decisions, including a 2-0 decision in the winning title match over Wisconsin's Issac Jordan, a returning NCAA All-American.
Joining Stafford with titles were freshmen Sam Kreimier and Michael Billingsley, whom captured their first-career tiles in the Amateur Division.
Kreimier had a strong debut, competing at 157 pounds, going 4-0 on the day, including a 4-3 decision in the title match. Billingsley also had a standout debut, competing at 165 pounds, going 3-0 on the day, including a 9-3 decision in the title match.
Also in the amateur bracket, freshmen Drew Romero and Evan Ulinski placed second and third at 125 pounds. Romero went 4-1 on the day and Ulinski went 2-1. Freshman Zen Ikehara, competing at 184 pounds, placed second. Ikehara went 2-1 on the day with a pair of decisions.
Sophomore Anthony McHugh, competing at 133 pounds, rounded out the place winners, taking fourth in the Elite Division. McHugh went 3-2 with a major decision.
Air Force returns to action Saturday, Nov. 15, hosting top-ranked Minnesota. The dual begins at 10 a.m. at Clune Arena with free admission.
